Varsity Girls Pull Out a HUGE Win!
The varsity girls basketball team pulled out a big win coming back from 8 points down in the 4th quarter to tie the same and to send the game to overtime. With a solid defensive effort in the overtime period and clutch shots and free throws, the Lady Rams held CSD Eagles to just one basketball at the end of overtime to secure a 42 – 39 victory. The small but loud crowd encouraged the team down the stretch. The Lady Rams hope to carry this momentum into the last week and a half of the season and to prepare themselves for the playoffs.
Coaching Change Pays Off for Varsity Girls
Our Varsity Girls were in a slump, losing several games, some by very large margins. Our coaching staff were lost for what we could do, decided on a change. Coach Newton was asked step up to lead practice and coach the games for the final weeks. A simpler approach to our game was adopted and it paid off big in our game against a very strong CSD team. While I sat quietly on the bench, it was purposeful to have one voice for the girls to hear.
Our team was sparked by having senior Leah in the lineup which led to a well-deserved game ball honor as well as loud Ram fans cheering them on. Join us Thursday Feb. 12th for our final home game of the season as we honor our seniors.
