Happy First Day of Summer! I wanted to give you a quick update on where we are with the Hayward campus.
The process of obtaining the property has been a roller coaster ride but we think we are getting very close to completing the transaction. The remaining schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, June 28 – 7:00PM hearing before the Hayward City Council
Tuesday, July 5 – 7:00PM 2nd meeting on the Hayward City Council’s consent agenda
Tuesday, July 12 – 9:00AM TEFRA hearing before the Alameda County Supervisors.
All three meetings are anticipated to be favorable and if they follow as anticipated, we will close escrow on the property around noon on Tuesday, July 12.
We are currently entering the property periodically to do inspections and plan for staff and classroom assignments. We are confident and prepared to move into the building very quickly due to the planning and preparations taking place now in 1501.
If you are available on the evening of June 28 to attend the first Hayward City Council meeting that would be a great. The second meeting with the City on July 5th is not as critical because our proposal should be treated as an administrative item rather than full blown presentation.
Thank you for your prayers and support. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting bigger and brighter, but a reminder to myself is that I committed to praying every day until we close escrow and that is what I intend to do. Have a great week everyone. God bless!
